Restless Development’s first ever Green Week.

Last week marked Restless Development’s first ever global  ‘Green Week’. It was a huge success as staff in the UK, Tanzania, India, Zimbabwe & Nepal took part in activities and challenges designed at raising awareness of climate change and how we can all do our bit to help the environment.

Aligned with the second week of the UN Climate Talks in Paris, Restless Development’s Green Week saw staff and volunteers come together to share their voice calling for a #CoolerPlanet.

Green Week began in the UK with a team challenge to create a Christmas decoration using only recyclable material from around the office:

In India, Restless staff kicked off their Green Week by taking the #CoolerPlanet messaging out to local young people:

The focus of our Green Week activities then switched to tree planting, with another team challenge in the UK and more staff involvement in our Delhi office too:

In Tanzania, staff contributed by taking part in a beach clean up and cycling to work:

On Wednesday, staff in the UK took to social media to help spread the message of #CoolerPlanet and came up with some very creative ways to do so… Whilst in India we saw students taking the lead on Green Week actions:

In Nepal, our team shared messages of young people on the environment and also got creative and held a paper recycling training for staff and alumni:

In Zimbabwe, where staff will actually be holding their Green Week this week instead, Restless volunteers have already been busy learning about ecological rights at a youth climate camp in Zambia:

Finally, back in London, we wrapped up our week’s activities and announced the winners of the Green Week challenges… Congratulations to the Communications Team!

Thank you to everyone who took part in Green Week activities across the globe, we’re already looking forward to next year!
